Toby Whata

Architectural Graduate

Toby Whata is an architectural graduate from the University of Auckland and is of Te Arawa descent, with whakapapa to Ngāti Pikiao and Ngāti Whakaue. Raised primarily in Tāmaki Makaurau, he brings a strong interest in Māori design and housing to his work. Toby is particularly passionate about papakāinga, and the role architecture can play in creating homes that strengthen connections between whānau, identity, and whenua.
